Jeff Jarrett Rejects AEW Title Help As Clock Ticks Down On Career

Jeff Jarrett AEW

Jeff Jarrett set his sights on the AEW World Title but it seems time is against him as he refuses help from one unlikely star.

Jeff Jarrett was in action on the Zero Hour pre-show ahead of Worlds End where he defeated QT Marshall. After that win, Jarrett promised a big announcement was coming on the first Dynamite of 2025 as it looked like The Last Outlaw was getting ready to ride off into the sunset for the last time.

On Dynamite Fight For The Fallen, Jeff Jarett came to the ring with his boots in hand, looking like he was about to call time on his career. However, it turned out Double J has one thing left to do before calling it quits.

Jeff Jarrett announced that he has signed his very last professional wrestling talent contract and that he wants to become the AEW World Champion. Jarrett noted that there was a Casino Gauntlet match happening the following week and he wanted to be part of it as the winner would get a shot at Jon Moxley’s title. However, that plan ended up in tatters.

Jeff Jarrett Rejects MJF’s Advances

Wheeler Yuta attacked Jarrett as he made his way to the ring for the Casino Gauntlet match and cost him the chance to be part of it. Jon Moxley now knows his next opponent as a surprise challenger ended up winning that match. But is there another way to get what he wants?

MJF revealed on the January 8 edition of Dynamite that Jarrett’s final talent contract lasts for exactly one year leaving time against Double J. MJF offered his help to Jarrett to reach his goal with the provision that he’d be first in line for a title shot if Jarrett won the big one. However, Jeff Jarrett rejected MJF’s offer and instead labelled him a “one hit wonder.”

It remains to be seen if this will lead to a match between MJF and Jeff Jarrett but any losses at this stage would severely hamper Double J’s attempts to get his hands on another world championship.
