Jeff Jarrett Says Ex-WWE Star Is The Perfect Fit For AEW

Jeff Jarrett Reflects On The Night WWE Killed The WCW Brand

Jeff Jarrett was happy but surprised one former WWE star joined AEW.

After spending part of the ‘Monday Night Wars’ jumping between WWE and WCW, Jeff Jarrett is no stranger to leaving his wrestling home for the competition. The son of promoting legend Jerry Jarrett, Jeff has remained an ever-present in the industry since starting his career in 1986.

Following another brief stop in WWE in August 2022, Jarrett joined AEW where he continues to form part of a stacked roster with the likes of Will Ospreay, Jon Moxley, Mercedes Mone, Swerve Strickland, and Bryan Danielson.

Danielson made his own jump from WWE to AEW in September 2021, before going on to become one of the most important figures in the company. The American Dragon is the current AEW World Champion after defeating Swerve Strickland, although his in-ring career is winding down.

Ain’t He Great? – Jeff Jarrett On Bryan Danielson

Speaking on his My World podcast, Jarrett was full of praise for Danielson, who he says embodies AEW like no one else. The veteran explained that he was surprised Danielson left WWE when he did, but his deal with AEW is the perfect marriage.

“Having that talent like a Bryan Danielson, and I just think it was peanut butter and jelly, if you will,” Jarrett said. “It was steak and eggs, it was a real perfect fit because Bryan — the ‘Yes Movement,’ and all the showbiz and sports entertainment, fantastic. Bryan would not be the box office attraction who he is today without all of that, but with all that being said, he is a through and through professional wrestler, and so him getting in bed with this brand, I was so pumped.”

Bryan Danielson will make the next defence of his AEW World Title against Jon Moxley at WrestleDream. Danielson has promised to end his full-time in-ring career next time he loses.
