Jeff Hardy Recalls The WWE Match That “Terrified” Him The Most

Jeff Hardy Recalls The WWE Match That

Jeff Hardy shared a defining moment from his early wrestling days that left him “terrified.”

Speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” Jeff Hardy reminisced about his memorable match against Razor Ramon, the legendary persona of Scott Hall, when he was just 16 years old. This bout was a crucial milestone for the young wrestler, pitting him against a future WWE Hall of Famer in a pressure-filled scenario.

Hardy described the encounter as both intimidating and influential, admitting it almost snuffed out his wrestling ambitions before they fully took root. Reflecting on that pivotal match, Hardy revealed:

When I think about that match, I just know that the ring back then was so hard. I was probably 185-190 pounds, and oh, it was so hard. We had never been in it before, and he [Scott Hall] was stiff with a few things. I was 16, just terrified, you know? It was just rough.

The intensity of the match left Hardy contemplating his future in wrestling. He confessed:

When it was over, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t ever want to do that again.’

However, Hardy’s passion for wrestling was rekindled the very next night during a match against Sean Waltman, who was known as the 1-2-3 Kid at the time.

It just refilled my soul; it was fun again,

Hardy reflected, underscoring the resilience that would come to characterise his career. This match not only reignited his love for wrestling but also set the stage for his eventual rise to stardom.

What Did Jeff Hardy Say About Leaving AEW?

According to his brother Matt, Jeff Hardy expressed that he didn’t feel wanted by AEW as no one reached out to him to try and organise a new deal when his contract was coming to an end with the company. This led to Matt speaking to TNA who said that when his deal with AEW is up Jeff could come to work for them.
