JBL Reveals His Mt. Rushmore Of Tag Teams, Makes Surprising Final Pick

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield revealed his personal Mt. Rushmore of professional wrestling tag teams, confidently naming three legendary duos before making an unexpected choice for his final spot.

Speaking on the Something to Wrestle podcast, JBL had no hesitation in selecting his first three teams, all of whom are considered among the greatest in wrestling history.

“So the top two I don’t have any problem—I know for sure. The Road Warriors, in their prime, when they’re doing run-ins when they’re killing people. The Road Warriors versus Joe and Bob are some of the most fun matches ever when Joe and Bob just got freaking destroyed.”

Another team he praised was The Steiner Brothers, highlighting their dominance in the early ‘90s.

“The Steiners in the early ‘90s, man, I could watch those guys all freaking day.”

For his third pick, JBL chose The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, emphasising their ability to excel against powerhouse opponents.

“I think Ricky and Robert [The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express] against a big, tough tag team—put them out there against Nikita [Koloff] and Lex [Luger] or somebody, or Nikita and Magnum [T.A.]—those guys work great from underneath.”

However, his fourth and final choice was less predictable. While acknowledging legendary teams like The Dudley Boyz, The Hardy Boyz, and Edge & Christian, JBL ultimately picked the New Age Outlaws.

“The other one? Man, that’s tough. You know what? New Age Outlaws. I think New Age Outlaws. No offence to The Dudleys, The Hardys, Edge and Christian, and Kane and X-Pac. The guys I got to work with—The Briscoes and The Funks. I think the New Age Outlaws—those guys were always entertaining.”

Why Does Eric Bischoff Believe JBL Should Join AEW?

Eric Bischoff spoke about why he thinks JBL should join AEW and said that he would be a valuable asset to the company as Tony Khan seems to struggle with talent relations and being able to handle difficult talent. A skill that Bischoff believes JBL possesses and would be able to utilise to take control of the AEW locker room.
