Janel Grant’s Team Responds To Fresh Vince McMahon Speculation
Janel Grant’s team has issued a scathing response to new reports on Vince McMahon.
On October 19th it was reported that Vince McMahon was preparing to launch a new “entertainment hub company.” The disgraced ex-WWE boss would financially back the project which would “develop and produce film and television productions.”
According to the report, former WWE Chief Operating Officer Brad Blum, and former company liaison to Hollywood Kristen Prouty are said to be onboard. The company would likely be based in Los Angeles.
The report came as a surprise to many given McMahon’s precarious legal situation after being forced out of WWE. Back in January, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE alleging sexual abuse and sex trafficking. The suit has since been paused and a federal investigation launched.
This was followed in October by a second lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon, WWE, and TKO. The suit alleges that those named were complicit in the sexual exploitation of children by former ringside announcer and ring crew chief Melvin Phillips Jr.
Vince McMahon Built Career On “Sexual Deviance”
In response to the report, a Janel Grant spokesperson, Kendra Barkoff Lamy, fired back at the idea that McMahon could be looking to relaunch his media career. Lamy said that no one who cares about justice should want to work for McMahon and he needs to be held accountable for his alleged treatment of Grant.
“Both on and off the camera, Vince McMahon has built a reputation for his violent outbursts, sexual deviance, manipulation, and abuse. No one who cares about survivors and justice should want to work for or with any company of McMahon’s. He needs to be held accountable for the heinous acts he committed against Janel Grant and others at WWE.”
During an interview with Forbes, Lamy also hit out at WWE for the company’s lack of a sexual harassment policy on its website.
