Janel Grant Seeking More Evidence From Doctor In Vince McMahon Lawsuit
Janel Grant’s legal battle with a doctor used by Vince McMahon continues.
Back in May, a judge denied Dr. Carlon Colker’s motion to dismiss a petition filed by Janel Grant. This ruling allowed Grant to move forward in pursuing evidence from the doctor and his clinic, Peak Wellness Inc.
Grant quickly sought immediate access to evidence and to depose the doctor. However, according to a new filing made with the Connecticut Superior Court, Colker is continuing to litigate whether evidence should be handed over.
Grant’s legal team argues that discovery should proceed as “probable cause” regarding potential claims of conspiracy, RICO conspiracy, and fraud have already been established. Colker and Peak Wellness counter by claiming their right to file additional motions and delay handing over evidence until these are resolved.
Crucially, Judge Colleen Zingaro has only denied Colker’s motion to dismiss, but no decision has been taken on how discovery should proceed.
Janel Grant Alleges She Was Sent To Doctor By Vince McMahon
The battle between Janel Grant and Dr. Colker relates to claims from the former WWE employee that she was sent to the doctor by Vince McMahon. During these visits, Grant alleges that she received treatments that weren’t disclosed to her, including pills and IV infusions.
Grant’s team also alleges that the clinic was involved in “several instances of sexual abuse against Ms. Grant by McMahon as further described in Ms. Grant’s federal complaint.”
In the new court filing, Grant’s team laid out several subjects they are seeking evidence in relation to, including communications between Colker or his staff and WWE or Vince McMahon.
As noted by Brandon Thurston for POST Wrestling, “one element that stands out” is a request for information regarding potential travel by McMahon and Colker on March 1, 2019, and May 1, 2022. This is linked to trips Colker and McMahon may have taken to Tijuana, Mexico. Grant’s attorneys want to question Colker about these trips in a deposition.
The filing also confirms that Grant is looking for information on the purposes of IV treatments and supplements she received at the clinic. In addition, she is seeking any security camera footage of herself or McMahon on premises owned by Colker.
Colker and Peak Wellness continue to deny wrongdoing and claim Grant was only provided with one single vitamin tray, not the unmarked pills she claims. In addition, the defendants deny falsifying Grant’s medical records and “any coordination” with McMahon regarding her treatment.
Back in May, Dr. Carlon Colker filed a lawsuit against one of Janel Grant’s lawyers. The suit alleges that Ann Callis and the Holland Law Firm made false public statements regarding Colker’s connection to the McMahon lawsuit.
