Jamie Hayter Breaks Silence Following Crushing AEW Defeat
Jamie Hayter is looking to bounce back.
Since making a somewhat low-key return to AEW at All In 2024, Jamie Hayter has been slowly working her way back to the top of the AEW women’s division.
In recent months, this saw the star reach the finals of the Owen Hart Cup, putting her one match away from challenging for the Women’s World Championship. A title that Hayter lost at Double or Nothing 2023 after sustaining a major back injury that threatened to end her career altogether.
However, after a hard-hitting final, it was Mercedes Mone who walked out with the win at Double or Nothing 2025, and perhaps more crucially, a shot at Toni Storm at All In Texas.
Jamie Hayter Is Looking Forward
The defeat represented a major setback for Hayter, who had been forced to be patient as she plotted her way back into title contention. However, she isn’t ready to give up just yet.
In a new post on social media, Hayter reflected on her loss to Mone and did her best to put a positive spin on the situation. After coming up short, the British star reasoned that the only way is up.
I was kidding myself, wasn’t I? But there is no road back, only forward. The only thing left is to rise, to sharpen, to become.
In the weeks leading up to Double or Nothing, Jamie Hayter revealed the extreme physical toll her 2023 back injury took as she contemplated retirement. She admitted that after continuing to wrestle with the problem initially, she struggled to move and could only find some degree of comfort by lying on her stomach.
