Jamie Hayter Named AEW Women’s World Champion As Thunder Rosa Relinquishes Title
Thunder Rosa has forfeited her AEW Women’s World Championship and Jamie Hayter is the top woman in All Elite Wrestling!
Thunder Rosa has been absent from AEW television since announcing she was having to withdraw from her title defence against Toni Storm at All Out in early September due to injury.
Instead, Storm won a match to become Interim AEW Women’s World Champion on that show and afterwards seemingly suggested that Thunder Rosa’s injury might not be all that it seemed.
Rosa hit back at these claims in a recent video posted on social media that saw her assure AEW fans that she would be back soon, but an announcement from Renee Paquette on the November 23rd episode of AEW Dynamite said otherwise.
According to Paquette, the extent of Rosa’s injuries left her return uncertain, and the former champion reached an agreement with the company when AEW asked her to relinquish her title. Paquette insisted that fighting champion Thunder Rosa but agreed to forfeit her title not only for the good of not only the company itself, but for the women of AEW. With the announcement, Paquette then welcomed the new official AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter.

However, any victory speech Hayter might have planned was interrupted by former champion and stablemate Britt Baker, who sang Hayter’s praises before saying that their group had never considered the word “interim.”
Baker and Hayter proceeded to team together in a triple threat tag team match against the teams of Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue as well as Anna Jay and Tay Melo.
