Jake Roberts Believes AEW Star Should Have Title Run

Jake Roberts feels that one AEW wrestler is “capable of doing anything” and deserves a Championship reign.

Earlier this year AEW announced Jake Roberts, along with Mark Henry, Paul Wight, and Shawn Dean as special advisors for AEW Together, the company’s outreach project.

WWE Hall of Famer Roberts has been part of AEW since 2019 and has been helping talent develop talent backstage.

In March 2020 Roberts made a surprise on-screen return to interrupt Cody Rhodes and reveal Lance Archer as his new client. Lance Archer had Roberts by his side during high-profile feuds with Cody Rhodes, Adam Page, and Wardlow.

Jake Roberts feels the former IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion deserves more success in AEW and that Archer should be backed by Tony Khan. Archer won the Casino Battle Royal at All Out 2020, but has yet to lift a Championship in AEW.

On the latest episode of The Snake Pit, Roberts shared high praise for Lance Archer.

“I don’t know why they haven’t jumped on that pony and let him run,”

“It’s just what they’ve got in mind, man. He’s certainly capable of doing anything and everything. No doubt about that. I don’t know. I don’t know if they will. It’s not my place to say.”

Lance Archer has also gained success lifting the IWGP Tag Team Championship three times with Davey Boy Smith Jr, and the NWA Tag Team Championships Twice with Kid Kash.

Jake Roberts creativity and mind for professional wrestling are highly praised and by sharing his support for Archer, fans can be excited to see the Texan born fighter’s career blossom in AEW.

Despite not billed to appear, Archer will have a keen eye on tonight’s Double or Nothing PPV which sees 21 stars including Jay White set to compete in the Blackjack Battle Royal.

Taking place in Las Vegas, AEW’s latest event is headlined by a four-way match for the AEW World Championship as MJF defends against Darby Allin, Jack Perry, and Sammy Guevara.
