Jade Cargill’s WWE Future Questioned: “Death By A Thousand Paper Cuts”

Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill arrived in WWE with major buzz from her AEW run. She quickly became a fan favorite and received a strong initial push. But many observers now believe that her momentum has slowed.

After returning from injury at the Elimination Chamber 2025, critics pointed to a noticeable shift in her presentation. WWE was focused on more selling, fewer dominant power spots, and less emphasis on her aura, which signaled waning creative confidence.

Her SummerSlam title challenge against Tiffany Stratton, which ended in just over seven minutes with Stratton retaining, further fueled concerns that Jade Cargill was made to look weaker than expected.

Backstage chatter hasn’t helped. Reports describe tension following in-ring hiccups during matches involving Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. According to those reports, there was an alleged incident where Cargill told Baszler to “learn to work,” a sharp insult in wrestling culture.

Stevie Richards Comments on Jade Cargill’s Waning Momentum in WWE

On a recent episode of his show, veteran Stevie Richards warned that provoking someone like Baszler, who has real MMA credentials and can “shoot,” is unwise. He believes Jade Cargill’s circumstances show how minor mistakes, image changes, and workplace conflicts can slowly undermine success.

“Jade can be excited about her push, happy about her push, and come off as arrogant, and then tell Shaina Basler, you can’t work. You’re kind of asking for her at that point. Especially, you know what, Shayna Baszler can’t work, but you know what she can do? Shoot. So, probably shouldn’t say that. So that’s kind of maybe is death by a thousand paper cuts.” (6:59 onwards)
