Jade Cargill’s AEW Record Shattered By Top Star

Jade Cargill

Two years after Jade Cargill left AEW, one record she held in the company has now been broken.

The wrestling world was left stunned in 2023 when Jade Cargill announced she had signed with WWE after her time in AEW came to an end. Cargill had dominated the women’s division in Tony Khan’s company, holding the TBS Title for a whopping 508 days.

That remained by far the longest AEW title run in the company’s six-year history, long after Cargill’s exit, but now the storm has been surpassed by a little rain.

Kazuchika Okada Overtakes Jade Cargill

Kazuchika Okada has now held the AEW Continental Championship for 509 days, giving The Rainmaker the honour of having the longest title reign of any AEW champion. Kazuchika Okada won the brand new AEW Unified Championship at All In Texas, but the company still recognises him as the Continental Champion as well as the International Champion, having won that title from Kenny Omega in the winner-take-all match.

As of August 11th 2025, Mercedes Mone has held the TBS Title for 442 days, meaning she’ll have to hold the gold for just another 67 days to take Cargill’s spot as the longest-reigning TBS Champion as well. Something few AEW fans would bet against happening, given Mone’s status as the belt collector.

Jade Cargill had the chance to win the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, but lost her title bout as reigning champion Tiffany Stratton retained her gold.
