Jade Cargill Reacts To Making WWE Debut At Royal Rumble

Jade Cargill made her WWE in-ring debut at the Royal Rumble and has opened up about what it meant for her.

It was in September 2023 when WWE announced that they had signed AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill, who turned down AEW’s attempts to re-sign her because Cargill wanted to see how she does in WWE.

The signing of Cargill was treated like a big deal by WWE as they put Cargill on their Raw, Smackdown and NXT television shows. There were even backstage staredowns with top stars like Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

Rather than put Jade in the ring to end 2023, WWE chose to wait until the Royal Rumble at Tropicana Field for Cargill’s debut as the 28th entrant in the match. The fans cheered for her.

When Cargill got in there, she looked impressive by going after Nia Jax, who had a dominant performance. Cargill managed to show off her power and eliminate Jax from the match. Cargill also had a staredown with Bianca Belair to tease a future match. Cargill made it to the final three when she was eliminated by the returning Liv Morgan.

Jade Cargill Thanks WWE Fans

In a post-Royal Rumble WWE digital exclusive, Jade Cargill thanked WWE fans for the reaction they gave her.

“I’m nothing less than a superstar. What did you think was gonna happen? Did you hear the crowd for the other women like they raved for me? I don’t think so. But I do wanna thank the WWE fanbase because you guys showed up and showed out tonight. I am nothing short of a superstar, I’m Jade Cargill, that was my first introduction. Get ready for everything that comes with me.”

Cargill also addressed her elimination when Liv Morgan found a way to take her out of the match.

“This entire locker room is full of talent. I thought I did my homework, I wasn’t expecting Liv Morgan, but clearly, I have to go back, do some more work, and keep it moving. I am one of one, I am number 1, and I’m here to take over this entire women’s division.”

As for eliminating Nia Jax, Cargill seemed proud of that accomplishment.

“It is [a feat to eliminate Nia Jax from the Rumble]. I think Nia is one of the strongest women in this division but she’s not Jade Cargill. I mean did you see what I did out there tonight? Did you hear the pop I got? Clearly, this fanbase doesn’t like her and they like me. So keep it moving.”
