Jade Cargill Reveals Why Viral WWE Champions Photo Was Really Taken
WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill has opened up about the viral photo featuring 4 WWE champions that many thought was a shot at AEW.
November’s Saturday Night’s Main Event proved to be a huge night for former AEW stars in WWE. Cody Rhodes retained his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in somewhat controversial circumstances.
Seth Rollins was forced to relinquish the World Heavyweight Title due to injury, leading to a match being made for the vacant championship between Jey Uso and CM Punk. Punk bested Uso to recapture the title that was cruelly taken from him by Rollins at SummerSlam.
Jade Cargill turned heel for the first time in WWE when she turned on WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. Cargill captured the first singles gold of her WWE career when she beat Stratton for that title.
Those three champions were joined by NXT Champion Ricky Saints, who was not part of the Saturday Night’s Main Event show, for a photo which showed four former AEW stars posing with their gold, which many saw as a shot at Tony Khan.
Jade Cargill Feels Like WWE Stars Are Her Family
Now speaking on Booker T’s Hall of Fame show, Jade Cargill explained why the picture was taken, and she says the three other people in it feel like family to her:
When we took the picture, it just felt like family. I say that because Cody’s seen me from day one. Ricky’s my best friend in the industry. CM Punk has always been the most honest, most brutal person that I have ran into from day one when I met him. We’ve always had a friendship.
These are three phenomenal people who have sat with me and who have always been in my corner, and who have seen me go through A to Z. I’m not at Z yet, but have seen me go through so many situations and so many feelings and trying to understand this industry, because this industry will chew you up and spit you out.
So for these people to see me at the top of the mountain at WWE, there’s no other feeling. Punk showed me how to properly use a chair. Cody was in my first match ever. Ricky helps me out with so many things I don’t understand in the industry that takes years and years and years of knowledge.
These are people that have been in my corner forever, so again, it just felt like family.
