Jade Cargill Recalls How She Reacted To Getting Busted Open During WWE Match
Jade Cargill recently spoke about the injury she suffered on SmackDown in late September.
On September 26, Cargill faced Nia Jax and then-WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton in the main event, with the title on the line.
For a brief period, she and Jax brawled outside the ring near the commentator’s desk.
While at it, Jax shoved her hard onto the steel ring steps. The camera showed blood oozing from her forehead, leaving the audience groaning and gasping in unison.
Cargill, full on adrenaline, thwarted Jax by dropping her on the steel steps.
She then walked towards the camera, which showed a deep gash on her left eyebrow. Jade Cargill continued wrestling in the match.
Unfortunately, the match also received immense flak for its botched finish that saw Stratton reclaim the championship.
Jade Cargill Didn’t Realize The Seriousness Of The Injury
Jade Cargill won the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI by defeating Tiffany Stratton.
The 33-year-old recently appeared for an interview with WYFF News, where she discussed her title win as well as the previous injury.
About the injury, she revealed that she did not initially understand how serious it was.
I didn’t feel it. I think it was so much adrenaline going through my body. I didn’t know it was that bad until I was like looking in the camera talking and in unison, the entire arena said, ‘Oh!’ and I was like, ‘Okay, this must be bad.’
Then as I’m still talking out of my peripheral, I’m seeing all the women turn around and they’re like disgusted because I was going to get on the announcer’s table and like beat my chest and go crazy, and when I seen that, I said, ‘Okay, this must be really bad.’ Then our ref, Aja, passed by and said, ‘You are bleeding like crazy.’ I said, ‘Okay, this is terrible.’ But you know, in our sport, you gotta keep going.
