Jade Cargill Admits She Could Never Be a Legend in AEW
Jade Cargill has been making significant waves since joining WWE in 2023.
Cargill had a successful run in All Elite Wrestling, but in 2023, she made the bold decision to leave the Jacksonville-based promotion and debut in WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Her move surprised many in the wrestling world because of her prominent position in AEW’s women’s division.
Ahead of WWE’s biggest summer event of 2025, SummerSlam, Jade Cargill appeared on the Club 520 podcast with Jeff Tway to discuss her career decisions and transition to the Stamford-based promotion, among other things.
Jade Cargill Came to WWE To Become a Legend
During the interview, she openly admitted why she chose to join WWE. She emphasized her desire to become a legend, something she felt she could never achieve in AEW. She also commented on the warm reception she received from the WWE women’s locker room upon her arrival in the promotion.
She stated, “It was love. They wanted to work with me. They know that. They knew that I came here to get better, and they knew that I came here to be a legend, like there’s nothing else. There’s no other place I’m going to become a legend. They want to help as much as they can because they want to do nothing but elevate the locker room.” [H/T Fightful]
Cargill was a part of this year’s WWE SummerSlam premium live event, where she unsuccessfully challenged Tiffany Stratton for SmackDown’s WWE Women’s Championship on night two of the event.
