Jacob Fatu’s Path To WWE WrestleMania 42 Main Event Suggested

Jacob Fatu

A wrestling pundit has come up with some ideas on how to help Jacob Fatu become a WWE main eventer.

When Jacob Fatu made his WWE debut on SmackDown in June 2024, he did so as a veteran with over 10 years of experience. Fatu bypassed because of his experience working in high-level matches in places like MLW.

In 2024, Fatu was a part of three PLE main events at Money in the Bank, Bad Blood, and Survivor Series in a physical WarGames Match.

Fatu was initially in a heel role as an ally of Solo Sikoa, but he eventually broke free and became a babyface this past spring. Jacob Fatu also won the United States Title at WrestleMania 41, but he didn’t have a long title reign, lasting 69 days.

In recent months, Fatu has been a babyface ally of his cousin, Jimmy Uso, who has now moved to Raw to team with his brother Jey Uso. It’s unknown what’s next for Jacob.

While responding to a reader’s question on his Notsam podcast, WWE Raw Recap podcast host Sam Roberts thinks that Fatu has to branch out and face some different people, and perhaps that can put him on a main event path as a singles star.

“Yes, I think he should be separated from Solo. I also think he should be separated from Jimmy Uso. I think it’s time for Jacob Fatu to really branch out. I’d like to see Jacob Fatu get his hands on The Miz for a few weeks ago when The Miz slapped him in the face. And then start a whole, fresh story with Jacob Fatu.

“You know, I think there are tons of opponents for Jacob, but to answer the question of how to get in the main event of WrestleMania 42, you start having him work with main eventers. You start having him work with the Drew McIntyre’s of the world, and you start having him work with the AJ Styles’ of the world. Let’s start seeing what he can really do with the best of what WWE has to offer.”

Jacob Fatu Would Benefit From Feuding With WWE Veterans

As he continued talking about Jacob Fatu’s future, Roberts suggested a heel turn for AJ Styles and a potential Fatu rivalry with another veteran wrestler.

“I would love to see AJ Styles turn heel again, after this feud with Dominik. I would love to see AJ Styles turn heel, go back to SmackDown and start a rivalry with Jacob Fatu. That’s exactly what I would do.

Because to see AJ Styles and Jacob Fatu matches, then you’d really start to see what Jacob Fatu is really capable of. That’s the move to me. Turn AJ again, have him wrestle Jacob Fatu, have Shinsuke (Nakamura) come back to SmackDown, wrestle Jacob Fatu…that’s what I’m talking about.”
