Jacob Fatu Being Pushed Too Hard Says WWE Hall Of Famer

One veteran wants to see Jacob Fatu kept away from Cody Rhodes.

Since making his WWE debut in June, Jacob Fatu has become a central figure on SmackDown. The former MLW star has slotted effortlessly into the Bloodline storyline on the blue brand, earning praise far and wide for his performances.

Although he’s wrestled only five times since joining the company he’s been presented as nigh-on unstoppable.

This shone through on the September 13th episode of SmackDown with a spine-tingling staredown with Roman Reigns after Solo Sikoa had lost out to Cody Rhodes. Off the back of this showdown, it was announced that Fatu would team with Sikoa to face Reigns and Rhodes at Bad Blood.

Has Jacob Fatu Been Given Too Much Too Soon?

Speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi gave his thoughts on the rising star, and his comments have caught fans by surprise. The WWE Hall of Famer suggested Fatu is being pushed too fast, and that he needs to have more enhancement matches.

“I think Jacob is being pushed too fast. When you go to Cody, where do you go from there? Cody is the guy right now. I’ve said this before, let Jacob rampage through the whole roster. Give him a couple those enhancement matches to build. He don’t need but three minutes.

Again, we’ve seen Jacob however long he’s been on, a couple months or whatever, but is there anything different? You can only do so much on a run-in. This is what I’m saying.

You really want to go with a guy? Show his talent, let him have not a match-match, [but] a squash match just so he can show his potential of what else this kid can do.

I wouldn’t feed Jacob to Cody. That match is not deserving yet to happen,”

Meanwhile, a long-rumoured addition to The Bloodline seemingly won’t be debuting on SmackDown. According to a new report, Hikuleo is listed internally on the NXT roster, all but confirming that’s where he’ll make his WWE debut.

The former NJPW star is Tama Tonga’s half-brother and the adopted son of wrestling legend Haku.
