Jacob Fatu Set For Last Man Standing Match On WWE SmackDown

WWE star Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu will be in action on SmackDown.

On the March 28 edition of SmackDown in London, England, Braun Strowman took on United States Champion LA Knight in a non-title match.

When all was said and done it was Strowman who walked away with the win, but the real victor was Jacob Fatu. As Strowman looked to finish off Knight, Fatu smashed him with an elbow causing the disqualification.

Fatu hit a Samoan Drop on the announce table before continuing the assault in the ring. This brought Knight back into the fold, but he was laid out with a pop-up Samoan Drop. In a scene reminiscent of their battle at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Fatu ended the brawl with a series of Hip Attacks and a Jump-Up Moonsault.

It’s now been announced that Fatu and Strowman will meet in a Last Man Standing match when SmackDown returns to the United States. The match had previously been tipped to take place at WrestleMania 41.

After SmackDown, WWE made the following announcement:

“Warning! The monsters are being unleashed to wreck havoc on each other! Braun Strowman will once again go to war against Jacob Fatu in a Last Man Standing Match.”

Rey Fenix Set For WWE Debut

SmackDown will also feature the long-awaited WWE debut of Rey Fenix after he was finally released from his AEW contract. Fenix has been linked with a move to WWE for several months, and that speculation only increased when his brother Penta debuted on Raw back in January.

In recent weeks a series of vignettes have aired on SmackDown teasing a new arrival with the latest showing a masked Luchador alone in the ring. At the end of the clip, it was announced that Fenix will debut on April 4, although there’s no word on whether he’ll be wrestling.

Interestingly, on commentary Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett acknowledged that Penta and Fenix are brothers and wrestle as The Lucha Brothers, seemingly confirming they’ll continue with the name.

The only other match announced so far will see Naomi take on B-Fab.
