Jacob Fatu Earns Huge WrestleMania 41 Title Opportunity

Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu picked up a huge victory on WWE SmackDown, and he’ll be rewarded with a title match at his first WrestleMania.

Over the last year, Jacob Fatu has been an impressive “rookie” who has been pushed heavily on the WWE SmackDown brand.

After starting in WWE as a member of Solo Sikoa’s version of The Bloodline, Fatu was in main event matches at Money in the Bank, Bad Blood, and Survivor Series in 2024.

To begin 2025, Fatu has become his own man who doesn’t take orders from Solo anymore. Over the last two months, Fatu developed a personal rivalry with Braun Strowman, who is the biggest wrestler on the SmackDown brand.

When Strowman faced LA Knight for the US Title on the March 28th edition of SmackDown, Fatu couldn’t sit back and do nothing, so he attacked both guys to ruin the match. In the world of pro wrestling, sometimes wrestlers are rewarded for ruining other matches because Fatu was put in a number one contender’s match against Strowman.

Jacob Fatu Defeats Braun Strowman To Earn US Title Match At WrestleMania

On WWE SmackDown in Chicago, a highly anticipated Last Man Standing Match took place between Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman.

The two powerhouses fought in the ring, around the ring, and went into the crowd as well. One of the biggest spots was when Strowman ran around the ring and tackled Fatu through the barricade at ringside. It looked like the match might end there, but both guys managed to get up before the ten count.

Later in the match, Strowman gave Fatu a suplex off an equipment crate, and it led to both men going through multiple tables. Amazingly, they got up before the ten count to continue the match.

When Strowman finally got back into the ring, Fatu was on the other side of the ring, and Fatu gave Strowman a running hip attack into a table that was propped up against the turnbuckle. As the referee counted them down, Fatu got up right before the 10 count while Strowman failed to get up in time. Fatu fell back down after winning the match.

During his match on WWE SmackDown, LA Knight defeated Tama Tonga with a BFT in a non-title match.

Following SmackDown, WWE confirmed that LA Knight will defend the US Title against Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 41 on either April 19th or April 20th.
