Jacob Fatu Believes WWE Newcomer Deserves To Be There

Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu thinks that a new WWE superstar deserves to be in the company.

The impressive rise of Jacob Fatu in WWE has seen him main event PLE shows in his “rookie” year, and he also won the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41.

In recent episodes of SmackDown, Fatu has been involved in a storyline where he has told his cousin Solo Sikoa that he doesn’t want his help or the help of newcomer JC Mateo.

JC Mateo was known as Jeff Cobb before his WWE run. As Jeff Cobb, he was a wrestler who had a lot of success in promotions like Lucha Underground and New Japan Pro Wrestling, among other places.

Even though Mateo isn’t related to wrestlers in The Bloodline group in WWE, he has been welcomed in as an ally of Sikoa.

In an interview with the Battleground podcast, Jacob Fatu discussed Mateo’s past and why he deserves his current position in WWE.

“The Bloodline has always been The Bloodline. We’re talking about coming from the OG, from top dog Roman, Usos, Solo. It’s just like what I said at the press conference. I can’t really even speak on it because at the end of the day, okay, yeah, we can say this and that, but you know what? It ain’t no jealousy. It ain’t nothing else behind that.

At the end of the day, he deserves to be in WWE. He deserves to be there, especially all the stuff that he’s been through. At the end of the day, I really can’t call it. Solo is in and out, I’m in and out and we just all gotta bounce back on the same page.”

Jacob Fatu Celebrated Championship Win With His Son

As he continued, Jacob Fatu said that he celebrated the US Championship with his son. Fatu has a big family with seven kids.

“I went back to the hotel room later that night, just me and my son. My son was there with me. I ain’t even been there for a year. It’s just like what I said once again, going back to the Backlash press conference, you know, I’ve just been doing me. That’s it. I’m just doing Jacob what Jacob has been doing for the past 12 years since I’ve been grinding at KnokX Pro.

It is a lot. All of a sudden, you know, everybody’s your cousin now since you get on TV now, I mean, especially knowing the Samoans, you know, everybody is related to somebody.”

Jacob Fatu also explained why he’s very happy about his current situation in WWE.

“I wasn’t expecting to be here, but man, God just works in mysterious ways. I’m very happy. I’m very proud, but it took a lot of people to get me here.

I’m not gonna say, ‘Oh, Jacob. I did it by myself.’ When they say that it takes a village to raise somebody, man, let me tell you, bro. I’ve been getting help my whole life.

There’s a lot of people from behind the scenes that really sacrificed a lot just for me to be here. It’s definitely sinking in, man, and I’m very excited and happy.”
