IYO SKY & Kairi Sane’s Surprising Reaction To Racist WWE Remark

Carlito caused uproar with a comment seen to be racist on WWE Raw and now the reaction of IYO SKY and Kairi Sane has been revealed.

Carlito spent much of the October 21st episode of Raw getting into trouble with just about everyone. After laughing at Dominik Mysterio’s claims that he’ll be the man beat to Gunther, Raquel Rodriguez questioned why he’s even there.

At this, the veteran dubbed himself a ”fixer” and then said he was off to fix things. Carlito then went and proposed Gunther vs. Mysterio to General Manager Adam Pearce who also laughed. After begging for the match, Pearce said he’d consider it if Mysterio could beat a former world champion next week.

However, it was Carlito’s comments when he first approached Pearce that grabbed the headlines. At the time, Kairi Sane and IYO SKY were speaking Japanese, to which he said “I gotta learn Chinese.” A line many deemed offensive but it seems the stars on the receiving end of it had no issue.

Kairi Sane & IYO SKY Okay With Carlito Line

On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that he was told that Kairi Sane and IYO SKY had no issue with Carlito’s line and saw it as something his character might say:

I hate even say this because people will think I’m defending the company or whatever but I was told by the same person that told me the Carlito line was an adlib that IYO and Kairi did not have a problem with it. They saw it as him playing an idiot and that was that. That doesn’t necessarily mean Carlito will not be punished for this but that’s the story.

One report noted that there was plenty of disbelief in WWE over Carlito’s comment given its racist connotations and the line has been edited out of all digital clips.
