“It’s The End Of My Career” – Ex-WWE Champion Makes Heartbreaking Revelation
A five-time WWE champion has made a shocking confession.
Shayna Baszler moved from NXT to the main roster in February 2020. After winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber, she feuded with then-RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. However, she failed to dethrone The Man at WrestleMania 36.
Later that same year, Baszler competed in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match against Asuka, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, and Nia Jax. Nevertheless, she failed to capture the briefcase as The Empress of Tomorrow emerged victorious. The following RAW, Lynch shockingly relinquished the title to Asuka after announcing her pregnancy.
Shayna Baszler’s WWE Career Took A Turn Due To Becky Lynch’s Pregnancy
In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Shayna Baszler revealed that she was told she was winning the 2020 Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase before plans changed.
The 45-year-old admitted that she initially thought the higher-ups hated her after they decided to change directions. She even disclosed that she believed her career was over.
And Asuka climbs and wins.’ But they had told me, ‘Oh, you’re gonna win Money in the Bank.’ So, my newly called-up NXT fresh meat is going, oh my God, they’ve lost faith in me, they hate me, they don’t want me to be in this, they’re taking me out of the thing.
I don’t know, this is so bad. Cr*p, and so I’m just beating myself up, and then it was totally kayfabe to the locker room and everyone, Becky (Lynch) comes out and announces this whole thing about being pregnant, the winner of the Money in the Bank won the title and I was like, ‘You guys couldn’t have told me? Because I’ve been thinking this whole time that I’m the worst, and you guys hate me.
But you couldn’t have been like, hey, it’s not you. We can’t tell you why. You’ll find out. You just were like, ‘And then you’re gonna win Money in the Bank.’ No, you’re gonna win — come on, guys. You have no idea I was beating myself up, like, ‘Oh crap, it’s the end of my career.’ [H/T: Chris Van Vliet]
