Injury Update On Shane McMahon Following WrestleMania Return

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon returned to WWE for the first time since being sent home following the Royal Rumble in 2022 at WrestleMania 39 and that is where the good news ended for the star in Los Angeles.

The Miz has had better WrestleMania outings than the one he was put through over two nights in Los Angeles. On Saturday night the star claimed to have put out an open challenge for the event that had gone ignored until Pat McAfee returned to WWE screens to accept it and defeat the former WWE Champion.

On Sunday night, things didn’t get much better. In his role as the host of WrestleMania 39, The Miz again came to the ring with Snoop Dogg to announce the second night’s attendance when the two stars got into an argument over Snoop making the match between Miz and McAfee the night before. One thing led to another and a new challenge was made, this time answered by Shane McMahon.

However, within seconds disaster struck when McMahon attempted a leapfrog and landed very badly. Medics attended McMahon while instructions were relayed to The Miz and Snoop Dogg with the Dogg Father himself stepping up to defeat Miz with a People’s Elbow that would have had difficulty breaking water.

At the post-show press conference, Triple H revealed that Shane McMahon had suffered a torn quad during the bout. During The Games’ in-ring career, he famously suffered that debilitating injury twice, missing months from the ring each time.
