Injured WWE Star Won’t Return In 2024
WWE Raw recently saw a big heel turn take place as one star took out his frustration on an old partner due to an injury to their current one.
Raw in Dayton kicked off with Sheamus in action against Bronson Reed with the former WWE Champion picking up the win. Reed attempted to attack the Irish star after the bout but was stopped in his tracks by Sheamus’ former Brawling Brutes partner Pete Dunne.
However, Dunne decided to attack Sheamus himself and then leave him at the mercy of Reed as he nailed his opponent with a Tsunami Splash.
In March 2022, Pete Dunne graduated to WWE’s main roster where he became known as Butch, joining Sheamus and Ridge Holland in The Brawling Brutes. Sheamus took 8 months off following his loss to Edge on SmackDown in August 2023 leaving Holland and Dunne to get on with things and Dunne eventually walked out on Ridge Holland ending The Brutes’ run.
WWE Star’s Injury Behind Heel Turn
Fightful Select has now reported that the decision was made to start up a feud between Sheamus and Pete Dunne as a result of the injury suffered by Tyler Bate. Dunne and Bate had formed a tag team dubbed the New Catch Republic which saw Dunne ditch the Butch name and return to his original wrestling moniker.
The report signals bad news for Tyler Bate as it notes that he is not expected to be back in action in 2024 although the exact details of his condition are currently unknown.
