Injured WWE Star In Town For SummerSlam, Has Backstage Role
A veteran WWE superstar that is on the injured list is at SummerSlam to help out backstage during the show.
Bobby Roode has been out of action for over a year going back to the last Smackdown before WrestleMania 38 in 2022 when he competed in a battle royal.
Since then, Roode has had major neck surgery that saw him have his C5 and C6 vertebrae fused. Roode is not expected to return to the ring this year.
In his WWE career, Bobby Roode was a “glorious” former NXT Champion before moving to the company’s main roster. Prior to WWE, Roode spent nearly 15 years in TNA Wrestling as well where he won the company’s World Title and many other championships as well.
On the main roster in WWE, Roode has won the United States Championship as well as both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships, teaming at different times with Chad Gable and Dolph Ziggler.
Bobby Roode In Town For WWE SummerSlam
It has been reported by PWInsider that Bobby Roode is in the Detroit area, which is where WWE SummerSlam is taking place. Roode lives in the province of Ontario near Toronto, so it’s not that for to get to Detroit, which is on the US-Canada border.
The report from PWInsider notes that “will be helping out as a Producer and will also be at Raw this Monday in that role.” Monday’s Raw on August 7th will be in Minneapolis.
There’s no official timeline for when Bobby Roode may return to the ring. Roode is 47 years old.
