The go-home episode of WWE SmackDown ahead of Crown Jewel brought two surprises with it.

Two superstars who hadn’t been seen on WWE TV for a while made their return to the ring.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Tama Tonga return to WWE during the same match

Sami Zayn announced an open challenge for the United States Champion on SmackDown, which was accepted by a returning Shinsuke Nakamura. He seemed to have brought back his King of Strong Style persona.

Unfortunately, the match ended with the bell being rung early when a masked man attacked Nakamura and then Sami Zayn.

Turns out, Tama Tonga is back!

He had been off television with an injury he sustained on the April 18th, 2025 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Once it was revealed that it was Tama Tonga, the other MFT members entered the ring and brutally assaulted Sami Zayn and the returning Nakamura.

It’s possible that Solo Sikoa hinting at another member for the MFT to be complete was about Tama Tonga’s return.
