Injured AEW Star Closing In On Return?
There could be good news for Tony Khan as one AEW star might be on the cusp of a return to the ring after ten months on the injured list.
On the July 20, 2024 episode of Collision, Skye Blue took on Hikaru Shida, but the match came to a quick and unfortunate end.
During the bout, Shida hit a crossbody from the ring apron to the floor, but as she landed on Blue, the latter’s ankle appeared to buckle underneath her. After the star was checked by the referee, the match was waved off, and she was helped backstage by officials. It was later confirmed that Skye Blue had broken her ankle.
But could a return be just around the corner?
Skye Blue Backstage At AEW Dynamite
Fightful Select has now reported that Skye Blue was backstage at Dynamite in Norfolk, Virginia. It’s still not known if this is a sign that Blue is close to returning to action or if she was just visiting. Dynamite saw Blue’s boyfriend Kyle Fletcher clash with Hangman Adam Page in the semi-finals of the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
It was noted that May had long been a target date for AEW to have Skye Blue cleared to return. The company will head to her hometown of Chicago on May 14 for Beach Break, so that could be where she returns to TV if she’s physically cleared.
