Injured AEW Star Closer Than Ever To Return

Adam Cole Kyle O'Reilly AEW

The last time Kyle O’Reilly competed in an AEW ring was June 2022 and after serious neck surgery, it looks like O’Reilly could be close to a return.

When O’Reilly faced Jon Moxley on Dynamite in June 2022, CM Punk and The Elite had not yet come to blows backstage, Thunder Rosa was AEW Women’s Champion, Jurassic Express were the AEW Tag Team Champions, neither the International or Trios Titles existed, and MJF was on hiatus following an expletive-laden promo on Dynamite as his future in the company looked uncertain. What a difference 18 months makes.

Kyle O’Reilly Could Be Set For AEW Return

Fightful Select has reported that there is positive news regarding the missing Kyle O’Reilly. His wrestling future looked very uncertain over the summer after he underwent neck fusion surgery in September 2022. Kyle O’Reilly was then dealing with a post-surgical issue that has extended his absence from the ring.

Now, however, O’Reilly is said to have been backstage at recent AEW shows and looking like he could be returning to TV. The last time O’Reilly was seen on TV he was still aligned with Adam Cole and Bobby Fish but Fish has since left the company and Cole is out for the foreseeable future with his own serious ankle injury.

Given his relationship with Cole and the possibility that he could return to TV, O’Reilly’s name might as well be thrown in the mix for the man behind AEW’s Devil.
