Infamous WWE WrestleMania Star To Battle Minoru Suzuki
If you are a fan of some of the most infamous matches in WWE history then Minoru Suzuki has a treat for you.
Minoru Suzuki is known as the “murder grandpa” for a reason. Even at the age of 56, Suzuki is one of the most feared men in the ring as he seems impervious to fear himself. Standing across the ring from Suzuki is no mean feat for those at the top of their game in the business whether it’s been in NJPW, AEW, or MLW which is why Suzuki’s match at WrestleCon Supershow is all the more impressive.
Minoru Suzuki will not be facing a current star over WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas, instead, he’ll be going toe-to-toe with the man responsible for one of the most infamous WWE moments ever – Butterbean.
Butterbean Back 26 Years After WWE WrestleMania KO
Eric “Butterbean” Esch was a top boxing name when he was brought into WWE to fight the company’s Brawl For All winner at WrestleMania 15. Brawl For All featured WWE stars in real fights and is considered by many to be one of the most stupid concepts in the company’s history thanks to the mixture of injuries, making everything else on the show look fake, and nobody gaining anybody from it.
Bart Gunn emerged as a somewhat surprise winner of the competition and could have kickstarted his career. Instead, he was put in the ring with Butterbean at WrestleMania 15 and the boxing star knocked out Gunn in 35 seconds. That proved to be Gunn’s last match in WWE until he returned to the company eight years later to be part of Raw’s 15th Anniversary battle royal.
Butterbean has suffered health struggles in recent years but has been back in the wrestling ring for the first time in 13 years on independent shows in Indiana ahead of his bout with Suzuki.
Fans of late nineties WWE will also enjoy that the special referee for the match is former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Dan ‘The Beast’ Severn.
