Imperium Finally Explodes On WWE Raw

It has not been a good few weeks for Gunther but now he’s lost more than just his Intercontinental Title as Imperium fell apart on WWE Raw.

At WrestleMania 40, Gunther’s staggering Intercontinental Title reign came to an end at the hands of Sami Zayn. The Austrian star had held the gold for a record-breaking 666 days, running up 21 successful defences.

Since the loss, Gunther had been absent from television, but on Raw in Columbus he was back and now there’s been a major change to Imperium.

Ludwig Kaiser Attacks On WWE Raw

Gunther declared himself for the upcoming King of the Ring tournament before he was interrupted by former King of the Ring winner Xavier Woods. That led to a tag team match with Woods and Kofi Kingston taking on Imperium’s Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser with Gunther watching on.

However, The Ring General was left hugely disappointed, storming off as The New Day picked up the win. Worse was to come, however, as after Kaiser helped Vinci from the ring, he finally turned on him, slamming Vinci into the ring. He then delivered a devastating dropkick to Vinci’s head as he lay prone on the steel steps.

Kaiser stormed to the back where he was greeted by Gunther who seemed pleased by his shocking actions.
