Impending Announcement Signals End Of WWE PLE

A new report has given an update on WWE’s PLE schedule for the rest of 2025.

According to a new report from Bodyslam.net and PWN, WWE is set to announce the return of Night of Champions on June 28 in Saudi Arabia, with SmackDown held in the same place 24 hours earlier.

As noted in the report, an announcement is expected in the coming days.

The new report backs up an earlier update from Wrestle Votes that suggested the event was coming back on June 28. This means that King and Queen of the Ring is missing from the schedule, and appears unlikely to return in 2025.

WWE Event Moving From Saudi Arabia

King and Queen of the Ring was initially set to debut in 2023 but was replaced by Night of Champions. The event would have seen the King of the Ring tournament return to being its own PLE for the first time since 2002 while also encompassing the Queen of the Ring tournament.

The event did finally return in 2024 in Saudi Arabia with Gunther crowned King, and Nia Jax crowned Queen of the Ring.

WWE will only make one stop in Saudi Arabia because the Royal Rumble will be heading to the kingdom in January 2026.

It was recently confirmed that the usual Saudi event Crown Jewel, will be moved to Australia on October 11th. The mini tour will include SmackDown on October 10 and Monday Night Raw on October 13. This will mark the first time the event has been held outside of Saudi Arabia since its inception in 2018.
