IMPACT Wrestling Signs Former World Champion

Impact Wrestling

It was a big night for IMPACT Wrestling at Rebellion with new champions crowned and a former TNA World Champion making their return to the company.

Rebellion was sure to signal big changes in IMPACT Wrestling as both the IMPACT World Championship and Knockouts Championship had to be vacated due to injuries suffered by former title holders Josh Alexander and Mickie James.

Steve Maclin overcame Kushida to become the new IMPACT World Champion while his wife Deonna Purrazzo completed the set in the show’s main event when she defeated Jordynne Grace to become a three-time Knockouts Champion.

However, the headlines were made before Maclin and Kushida’s match when former TNA and NWA World Champion Nick Aldis revealed that the deal was done and he was returning to IMPACT Wrestling. Aldis joined the commentary team for the IMPACT World Title bout itself and revealed he was going after the gold himself in the future.

Nick Aldis spent several years with IMPACT Wrestling/TNA before moving on to become the face of the revived NWA. That partnership went sour in recent months with Aldis and promotion owner Billy Corgan engaging in a very public war of words.

While Aldis is back with IMPACT Wrestling, it seems the company could lose one of its biggest stars with a former champion heading toward free agency at the end of their contract.
