IMPACT Wrestling Reportedly Suspend Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer has reportedly been suspended by IMPACT Wrestling following comments he made during an appearance on Dark Side Of The Ring.

Season three of Dark Side Of The Ring continued with an episode dedicated to the infamous Plane Ride From Hell. The events took place in 2002 when a chartered flight left the UK with a roster full of intoxicated WWE Superstars onboard en route for the USA.

During the episode, a flight attendant on board for the flight in question levelled serious allegations against both Scott Hall and Ric Flair, accusing both men of sexual harassment. Tommy Dreamer was a contributor in the episode and his comments specifically regarding Flair’s behaviour and allegations levelled against him prompted anger online.

The former ECW Champion joined IMPACT Wrestling for the second time in the spring of 2018. Since then Tommy Dreamer has had roles in the creative team as well as appearing as on-screen talent. Dreamer is also a co-host on the popular Busted Open Radio alongside Dave LaGreca, Mark Henry, and Bully Ray.

Now a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider says an email from IMPACT Wrestling chief Ed Nordholm was sent to all staff and talent on September 17th informing them of Dreamer’s indefinite suspension from the company.

That news came after an earlier report from Fightful Select revealed that Dreamer wouldn’t be at IMPACT’s upcoming tapings in Nashville.

Tommy Dreamer rose to prominence during the 1990s as part of the original ECW. During his long tenure with the company, Dreamer feuded with the likes of the Sandman and Raven. His feud with Raven gained particular notoriety as it also involved Dreamer’s wife Beulah McGillicutty.

Following the collapse of ECW in 2001, Dreamer signed with WWE, initially appearing as part of The Alliance during the Invasion storyline. He later went on to perform on the rebooted ECW, before leaving the company in 2010.
