Former IMPACT World Champion Will Be Free Agent Soon

IMPACT Wrestling

A big name IMPACT Wrestling star who is a former World Champion has a contract that is set to expire very soon.

It has been reported by Fightful Select that former TNA and IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion Moose has a contract that is set to expire in June.

When Moose last had a contract that was set to expire in 2021, IMPACT Wrestling re-signed him with a lucrative contract extension that is set to expire now, which means that deal was likely for two years.

During an interview with Fightful in the past, Moose mentioned that WWE was interested in him. Fightful also noted that WWE’s Canyon Ceman wanted to bring Moose in, but Ceman is no longer with WWE. It is believed that if Moose went to WWE then he’d go straight to the main roster rather than go the NXT route although it’s not known if Vince McMahon wanted to do that.

The 39-year-old Moose is a former NFL offensive lineman named Quinn Ojinnaka, who was in the NFL from 2006 to 2012. After retiring from the NFL, the 6’5″ 300-pounder was a natural fit for pro wrestling.

Moose started with TNA/IMPACT in 2016 and has spent the last seven years. During his run in the company, Moose has been an IMPACT World Champion, a TNA World Heavyweight Championship and he held the Grand Championship twice.

At IMPACT’s Under Siege pay-per-view last Friday, Moose was in a six-man match to earn a shot at the World Title. The match was won by Alex Shelley.
