“I’m 100% Done” – Huge WWE Star Confirms Retirement
WWE superstars usually hang up their boots with the afterthought of possibly returning for one more match. However, a Grand Slam Champion is actively trying to break that stereotype.
John Cena has only one more match left in his schedule, and after that, he has vowed never to return to WWE for an in-ring match.
However, fans speculate that despite claiming this is his final match, The Champ will return for at least one more match, just like other former superstars have done.
John Cena has claimed that he is definitely done with WWE matches
Recently, Never Seen 17 appeared with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live. During that conversation, he stated that he is definitely done, and he did the Farewell Tour to provide closure to fans who let him into their lives through decades of television. If a fan still holds on to the hope of him returning after December 13th, 2025, it will not become a reality.
This has really never been done in WWE history. WWE superstars don’t necessarily retire, they always kind of hang on for one more match. I am absolutely, 100% done on the 13th of December. it is my last in-ring performance. I will never wrestle again.
Then, you’ll be able to show this clip and call me a liar. There is a lot of skepticism out there because this has never been done before. I just hope people can come to grips with that because the reason I wanted to give people so much me time is because being able to perform for two decades, and people allowing me into their living rooms week after week, 52 weeks a year, no reruns, you do feel a connection with people. Touring the world in this last year has been beautiful. Meeting audience members and them sharing their stories has been great.
I wanted to give people a heads up so people could process whatever closure they want. If you’re one of those people who are like, ‘You’re never going to retire.’ After the 13th is going to be weird because you don’t have the closure you want. [H/t: Fightful]
John Cena’s final opponent will either be LA Knight or Gunther. It had been previously reported that WWE is leaning towards The Ring General, but new reports state that “big names” in WWE aren’t happy with that angle.
