AEW Match & Leatherface Cameo Divides Opinion

The horror movie-inspired Deathmatch definitely got wrestling fans talking following its conclusion. The $100,000 sponsored match was the latest collaboration between professional wrestling and an upcoming title from a third party. With the August 17th episode of Dynamite being a Fight For The Fallen special edition, the fee paid to promote the match was donated to Maui Foodbanks to help those affected by wildfires in the area.

With Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett being the competitors in the match, Hardy would enter first and make his way to the backstage area, where Jarrett would launch an attack and the match would begin. Interferences would occur throughout with Jay Lethal, Karen Jarrett, Matt Hardy and Isiah Kassidy being some of the names to provide backup to their respective allies.

Towards the end of the match, the sound of a chainsaw would play over the loudspeakers and the iconic chainsaw-wielding madman would come down the entrance ramp, specifically targeting Karren Jarrett. Leatherface would chase away Jarrett to the back as the match continued, with Jeff Jarrett eventually becoming victorious.
