Identity Of AEW Devil Set To Be Revealed
The identity of AEW’s Devil will be revealed sooner rather than later.
MJF has been targeted by The Devil and a number of mystery attackers since September. In the ensuing months, the group has attacked Jay White, The Acclaimed, Billy Gunn, Hangman Adam Page, and MJF himself. However, it seems the end of the storyline is in sight.
On the December 27th episode of Dynamite, MJF lost the ROH Tag Team Titles to two of The Devil’s masked associates. After the match, Samoa Joe came out to help MJF, fighting off the masked attackers. However, after a message appeared on the big screen, Joe smashed the AEW World Champion with a steel chair.
MJF and Samoa Joe are set to meet for the AEW World Title at Worlds End on December 30th.
Speaking on a media call ahead of the show, Tony Khan confirmed that the big reveal concerning The Devil is coming soon.
“It feels like we’re getting close to finding out who The Devil is. I expect some big revelations and big moments at Worlds End,” Khan stated. “The secrets will be revealed, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s been very different from the rest of AEW this year, and I’ve been very excited about it.
People who want to see that kind of episodic storytelling, and the identity of the Devil, and finding out that Samoa Joe is working with The Devil, added a whole new layer to it, especially heading into this match. Very excited for this match.
MJF/Samoa Joe at Grand Slam was a great match, but now the stakes have been set, and the table is there for another great match with a different set of stakes.”
Tony Khan Denies Big Name AEW Star Is The Devil
During the same call, Tony Khan denied that Samoa Joe is actually The Devil, leaving several stars in the frame. The comments from Khan come after Britt Baker was ruled out a number of weeks ago after heavy speculation.
