Identity Of Jon Moxley’s NJPW Emissary Revealed

Jon Moxley is sending a member of the Death Riders to Japan.

During NJPW Fighting Struggle Unleashed, Jon Moxley sent a warning to his young charge Shota Umino, warning he was going down a dark path. In the pre-recorded video, Moxley said he would be sending an emissary to deal with him.

Fast forward to night five of the NJPW World Tag League at Korakuen Hall, and another video aired following Umino’s win alongside Tomoaki Honma. This time the video featured Claudio Castagnoli and he confirmed he’ll be facing Umino at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th.

24 hours earlier Umino will challenge Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 19.

“Shota, what happened? I thought in Japan you respect your elders, not go around questioning them. See in our book, you were the first Death Rider. Jon took you under his wing. Even though you come out like a rhinestone cowboy all glittery and stuff, you still carried his Death Rider jacket.

So, how dare you question him? You forgot all the lessons? Lesson 1: the basics. Lesson 2: Well, how about I teach it to you personally January 5 Wrestle Dynasty. Class will be in session.”

Jon Moxley Retains AEW World Championship

At AEW Full Gear, Jon Moxley successfully defended the World Title against Orange Cassidy but that doesn’t tell even half the story of the chaotic encounter.

In the match’s final stages, Castagnoli and PAC looked to get involved after arriving through the crowd, only to be thwarted by Tomohiro Ishii, Kyle O’Reilly & Rocky Romero. With the referee distracted, Marina Shafir looked to hit Cassidy with a briefcase but she was tackled by the returning Willow Nightingale.

Although Cassidy followed up and almost grabbed the win, he was eventually pinned following an intervention from Wheeler Yuta.

After the match, Hangman Adam Page arrived with a chair and Christian Cage looked to cash in his World Title shot only to be attacked by Jay White. Eventually, the Death Riders escaped backstage, only to see their truck smashed into by another car driven by Darby Allin.

The show went off the air with the group escaping in a different vehicle.
