“I Was Shell Shocked” – Cody Rhodes Shares Terrifying Story Of Escaping Fire

Cody Rhodes opened up about a bus fire that left him shaken.

When superstars are on the road, they travel in their own buses. The company usually does not provide transportation or accommodation for the pro-wrestlers.

During such an event, The American Nightmare had to flee from his bus in the middle of a cold night because the ceiling had caught on fire.

Seth Rollins found Cody Rhodes in a state of shock

During his conversation with Becky Lynch on What Do You Want To Talk About? With Cody Rhodes, The American Nightmare spoke about the fire and what went down that night.

He was quite tired from the show and being on the road, and when he was woken up with two bangs, he initially thought those were gunshots.

Cody Rhodes only managed to escape with his family’s photograph and boots, but he does believe that he had time to grab more things.

I was pretty tired, so I’m definitely really excited to have gone to sleep for about 30 minutes. And then I hear, like, just a loud, Like. I don’t even know how to describe it. Two bangs. And I thought they were gunshots. I thought. And we were in this alley on the side of the stadium. And then I just hear Matt going, ‘we gotta get off this bus’. And I hear his feet running, and I run out. And the only way I can describe it, if you see the ceiling of the bus, is. Have you ever been on the Mummy at Universal Studios? When the fire. I thought he was, like, exaggerating the level of this fire. And then I just see this giant hole in this fire running up and down the bus.

I grabbed my picture of my family, I grabbed my boots, I run off the bus, and I’m looking at the bus, and I’m like, I had more time. I needed my boots. The ones with your husband’s logo on them. I needed my boots. But also, I had more time.
I could have got a few more things.

So I was like. And then I ran in the freezing cold, because everyone remembers that mania. It was cold. I ran to your bus. He [Seth Rollins] just was looking at me like, you okay, man? He knew there was a fire. But he was looking at me. And he could tell I was shell shocked.

During the same show, Cody Rhodes revealed that he was once quite hurt due to Becky Lynch’s actions at an omelet station!
