Why Hulk Hogan’s Ex-Best Friend Recently Received Death Threats

One of Hulk Hogan’s ex-best friends claimed to have received death threats.

Bubba the Love Sponge was the first to report on Hogan’s grave health condition over a month ago. Hogan died on July 24, aged 71, due to a cardiac arrest.

The American radio personality had then received word from his reliable sources that the WWE Hall of Famer was hospitalized and was not going to make it, and his family was called into town.

However, once his comments got out, Hogan’s PR team debunked the story.

Hulk Hogan’s longtime associate and ex-WCW president, Eric Bischoff, too, contributed with his side of the story, alleging Bubba’s claims as false.

This is when Bubba the Love Sponge started receiving death threats, although it is unclear whether fans were responsible for it or the higher-ups of the wrestling industry.

During the latest Coach & Bro podcast, former WWE writer Vince Russo revealed Bubba’s experience.

I know personally over the last month, Bubba the Love Sponge has been going through a living hell. And Bubba, about a month ago, maybe even longer, started reporting on Hulk’s health situation that was rather grave, very grave. Nobody was reporting on any serious issues regarding Hulk and Bubba was.

And during that time, you know, I was in touch with Bubba maybe twice a week and Bubba was giving me specifics about what the problem was and what was going on with his heart and they’re trying to put a new valve in there and he’s in a coma right now and he no longer has the ability to speak.

Bubba was getting into real, real specifics and Bubba made it clear to me; he’s like, “Vince, I’m getting death threats over this. You have no idea the hate that I am getting over this because I am the only one reporting the truth.” [2:02 onwards]

Bubba The Love Sponge Regrets Not Saying Sorry To Hulk Hogan

Bubba has been mourning Hulk Hogan’s death.

He spoke to TMZ, making his feelings clear about the regrets he has about not saying sorry to the Hulkster.

I’m saddened that I will never be able to tell him how sorry I am for the way I handled things that created the rift between us. I miss my friend and hope he rests in peace, he told TMZ.

Bubba and Hulk Hogan never reconciled after their falling out.
