Hulk Hogan WWE Appearance Cancelled
A Hulk Hogan appearance at a major WWE show is no longer expected to happen.
The commercials that WWE has aired promoting WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 25th in San Antonio have featured the legendary two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan.
While WWE didn’t officially advertise the Hulkster for SNME in San Antonio, there were reports earlier this week that Hogan was likely going to be there.
As is often the case in WWE, plans have changed. It was initially reported by Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda on X/Twitter that “Hulk Hogan will not be appearing on #SNME due to family commitments.”
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer confirmed Featherstone’s report while also claiming it’s not because of Hogan getting booed during Raw’s Netflix debut in Los Angeles.
“Sources within WWE have confirmed that Hulk Hogan will not be appearing as scheduled for Saturday Night’s Main Event tomorrow night in San Antonio. This was first reported by Chris Featherstone. Hogan had been the key person in all the commercials for the show.
Featherstone’s report of a family-related reason for Hogan missing the show is also accurate. This had nothing to do with his being booed in Los Angeles or at every arena where the Saturday Night’s Main Event commercial played, or Jesse Ventura or any other reason in that direction.”
At WWE Monday Night Raw’s Netflix premiere in Los Angeles, Hulk Hogan was booed out of the building during a promo when he was trying to put over the fans for supporting the company and also pushing his Real American Beer which is a WWE sponsor.
Jesse Ventura Claims Hulk Hogan Got Ventura Fired In WCW
The issues between Jesse Ventura and Hulk Hogan go back about 40 years in the mid-1980s era of WWE. Ventura was very outspoken against Hogan for a number of reasons.
When Ventura was interviewed recently about the Hulkster, Ventura claimed that Hogan got him fired by WCW after Hogan was hired by WCW in mid-1994.
“Eric Bischoff then got the head job at WCW, and then behind my back, he went out and got Hogan.
“He (Hogan) came in, got me immediately fired because he took over my look. He put the shades on, he put the do-rag on, and he became a villain. He couldn’t have Jesse Ventura be there and become Jesse Ventura, so he got me fired, and in essence, my wrestling career was over.”
Even though Hulk Hogan won’t be at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Jesse Ventura will be there. During the December SNME show, Ventura made some comments while he was interviewed by Joe Tessitore and also was on the call for the main event of the show.
