Hulk Hogan Got WWE Legend Fired

Hulk Hogan Said Got Him

One WWE Hall of Famer has no love for Hulk Hogan.

Jesse Ventura is set to return to WWE television at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th. The Hall of Famer was an integral part of the show during its initial run in the 1980s and early 90s and news of his comeback has been popular with long-time fans.

Following the announcement, Ventura appeared on the Bill Simmons Podcast to discuss his return and storied wrestling career.

During the conversation, the veteran recalled being “thrown out” of WWE in 1990 after attempting to organise a union years earlier, describing himself as “uncontrollable.”

After a break, Ventura made his way to WCW in 1992, but he abruptly left two years later, reportedly due to the arrival of Hulk Hogan.

While speaking with Simmons, Ventura claimed Hogan got him fired, and ended up stealing his look when he turned heel as part of the nWo.

“Eric Bischoff then got the head job at WCW, and then behind my back, he went out and got Hogan,” Ventura revealed.

“He (Hogan) came in, got me immediately fired because he took over my look. He put the shades on, he put the do-rag on, and he became a villain. He couldn’t have Jesse Ventura be there and become Jesse Ventura, so he got me fired, and in essence, my wrestling career was over.”

Hulk Hogan Closing On WWE Return?

While it’s been announced that Ventura will feature on Saturday Night’s Main Event, there have also been reports that Hulk Hogan could make a special appearance on the show.

According to the report, WWE is working hard to lean into the history of the TV special, and that includes paying homage to the first event run under the Saturday Night’s Main Event banner in 1985. At the taping, Hogan defeated Cowboy Bob Orton to retain the World Championship.

In a similar vein, Jimmy Hart has been linked with an appearance on December 14th, sparking speculation his long-time associate Hogan will also be there.
