Hulk Hogan

The tributes to Hulk Hogan keep coming.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that August 1st will officially be “Hulk Hogan Day.” This will see the United States flag and the Florida State flag flown at half mast in the state capital, Tallahassee, and government buildings in Pinellas County.

Hogan spent much of his life in Florida, having moved to the state when he was two years old. He briefly attended the University of South Florida and later trained to be a wrestler under the guidance of Hiro Matsuda in the state.

He made his in-ring debut in Fort Myers in 1977.

Hulk Hogan passed away at his home in Clearwater, Florida, on July 24. The WWE Hall of Famer suffered a heart attack after dealing with long-running heart issues. The medical report also revealed the star had a history of leukemia, something that hadn’t previously been public knowledge.

Hulk Hogan Devastated By Final WWE Appearance

According to Hulk Hogan’s friend and road manager Jimmy Hart, he had been left “devastated” by the reaction of fans to what turned out to be his final WWE appearance.

On the January 6, 2025, edition of Monday Night Raw, Hogan was heavily booed while appearing alongside Hart, who was holding an American flag. Hart attributed the reaction to Hogan’s political affiliations and public support of now-President Donald Trump.
