Hulk Hogan Credits WWE Star For “Keeping The Art Form Alive”

Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan credits a former WWE Champion for keeping the art of pro wrestling alive.

The Miz is approaching two decades since beginning his career in professional wrestling, and despite being seen as a midcard act, there’s little he hasn’t accomplished in WWE. He’s the first ever two-time Grand Slam Champion in the company, and boasts the honor of having main evented WrestleMania 27 against John Cena.

One man who doesn’t shy away from praising The Miz for his accomplishments is Hulk Hogan, himself one of the most iconic names in WWE history. Speaking in an interview with This Past Weekend, Hogan heaped praise on his fellow former WWE Champion, saying Miz understands the business of wrestling better than most.

“That brother is keeping this art form alive. Every time I see him, I tell him how much I love him for what he’s done because he understands this business a lot more than most of the guys do. There are probably two or three guys that I can pick up that understand the business. He’s one of them. He gets it.” (h/t Fightful)

Hulk Hogan Claims He And Vince McMahon Once Considered Purchasing UFC Together

Elsewhere in the interview, Hogan spoke about a time when he and Vince McMahon considered purchasing the UFC together. However, Hogan said he wasn’t interested in the deal as UFC was for more violent at that time than it is today.

“There was an opportunity to buy it [UFC] a long time ago and Vince [McMahon] and I passed on it.

“It was before the referees stopped things, and they were kicking people when they were on the ground, and it just was so violent when it was brought to us. That was a huge mistake.” (h/t WrestlingInc)

Hulk Hogan recently got engaged for the third time at the age of 69.
