Huge Update On MJF’s AEW Future Amid Absence

MJF wins Men's Casino Gauntlet Match

The future of AEW star MJF has just become a lot clearer.

The last time AEW fans saw MJF in action was back at All Out when he lost to Mark Briscoe in the brutal Tables ‘n’ Tacks match. That bout came one day after Mistico also got his comeuppance on the star by defeating MJF to win the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Title in a championship vs. mask match.

His disappearance from AEW came as needed time off to film the movie, Violent Night 2, after also appearing in the likes of Happy Gilmore 2 and The Iron Claw. MJF had been splitting his time between AEW and filming his new role in Winnipeg, but questions have been asked about his status due to being absence from the ring since All Out.

MJF Back In AEW Before 2026?

Wrestlevotes Live on Fightful Select reported that MJF was factored into plans for AEW Worlds End on December 27th, and has been dating back to the week of Thanksgiving.

Many think his return to the company has already been teased as AEW has advertised the return of the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal. That match will take place on the special Holiday Bash edition of Dynamite/Collision, taking place on December 17th. The last two men will face off to win the Dynamite Diamond ring on the following week’s show.

The winner of the Dynamite Diamond ring will then challenge for the AEW World Championship on the Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite on January 14th.
