Huge Title Match Added To WWE SmackDown

Since finding herself thrown together with Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair has revelled in being able to showcase a completely different side to her character. In several interviews, she admitted it’s a relief to be able to move away from her stoic and unflinching persona as The Queen.

At SummerSlam, WWE’s latest odd couple won the Women’s Tag Team Championship, and they continued to be part of a popular part of SmackDown. Something Alexa Bliss couldn’t have predicted when she pitched that they team up.

Ahead of the October 17 episode of the blue brand, Nick Aldis has announced that Flair and Bliss will defend their titles against Sol Ruca and Zaria. The NXT stars become the number one contenders after a win over Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre.

Jacob Fatu Still Advertised For WWE SmackDown

Elsewhere on SmackDown, Jacob Fatu is due to do battle with Drew McIntyre. But the fact that the match is still being advertised has taken many fans by surprise.

Just 24 hours earlier, it was reported that Jacob Fatu is dealing with a “non-wrestling-related” injury that will keep him out of the ring until well into 2026. The exact details of the issue are being kept secret.

Although unconfirmed, it’s been rumoured that the match with McIntyre could be used as a way to write Fatu off television.

The former United States Champion hasn’t wrestled since beating Rusev in a dark match ahead of the September 12 episode of SmackDown.
