Huge Matches Announced For WWE’s Return To Japan This July

World Wrestling Entertainment is returning to “The Land of the Rising Sun” this summer. They will be holding two live events at Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan on July 1 and July 2. WWE Japan confirmed that both shows are sold out and there have been some big matches announced to boot. The following is the impressive lineup for both live events. As always, the card is subject to change.

July 1

– WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens

– WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. The Usos vs. The Vaudevillains

– WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte vs. Natalya

– NXT Women’s Champion Asuka vs. Becky Lynch

– John Cena vs. Chris Jericho

– Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Bray Wyatt

– Baron Corbin vs. Titus O’Neil

July 2

– WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho

– WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. The Vaudevillains

– WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch

– NXT Women’s Champion Asuka vs. Natalya

– John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

– Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Bray Wyatt

– Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. The Usos

– Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin

Mark’s reaction: I would be shocked if one of these two live events was not streamed on the WWE Network. Both nights will see some big matches, most notably (to me at least) Shinsuke Nakamura facing off against Bray Wyatt. Not only should it be an exciting match, but it may be a hint as to Nakamura’s future status in NXT. Nakamura’s also scheduled to face John Cena two nights earlier on June 29 in Hawaii. I don’t think they’d be scheduling Nakamura in matches against big stars like Cena and Wyatt unless they plan on bringing him to the main roster soon. Nakamura never needed to be in NXT, but I can’t complain too much since being in NXT gave us a classic match between him and Zayn at Takeover: Dallas.
