Huge AEW Star Set For WWE Return Against John Cena?
A huge AEW star is rumored for a WWE return.
With only four remaining appearances for John Cena before his retirement, fans and experts have been speculating about his final opponent at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December.
During a recent episode of the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, wrestling veterans Disco Inferno and Konnan discussed the possibility of Chris Jericho being Cena’s final opponent. The two legends crossed paths on multiple occasions in the Stamford-based company.
Jericho is currently under contract with AEW. However, his deal is reportedly set to expire later this year. Konnan suggested Y2J would be an incredible final opponent for Cena, especially if he were kept as a surprise.
Well, let me just say this. If he could get out early, let’s say, and nobody knew about it and he was a surprise, well, that would be incredible. [4:28 onwards]
Matt Hardy Wants Chris Jericho To Return To WWE
Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Chris Jericho’s former rival addressed the rumors of The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla’s WWE comeback.
The former tag team champion claimed that Jericho has already done everything he could in AEW. He added that he feels like the time is right for the former World Heavyweight Champion to return to WWE.
I feel like the time is right. I feel like if he came back to WWE, it’d be a huge moment, especially in a Royal Rumble, whatever, wherever that appearance would be, it would be massive. And then I feel like there would be a good a good run he could do, even if it is his last run and he retires at the end of it, like Cena did. [H/T: Wrestlingnewsco]
