Huge AEW Star Will Allegedly Join WWE In 2026
A former AEW World Champion will allegedly become a WWE Superstar in 2026.
Chris Jericho ended his third WWE run in 2018. He later joined AEW to become one of the leading figures in Tony Khan’s company. The 55-year-old held the AEW World Championship and the FTR Championship. He also helped elevate several young stars over the past six years.
However, Jericho’s AEW contract is rumored to expire by the end of this year. Recent reports suggested the wrestling legend is on his way back to WWE.
WWE Analyst Predicts The Return Of Chris Jericho
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts gave his wrestling predictions for 2026. The 42-year-old revealed that he believes Chris Jericho will finally make his comeback to WWE.
Meanwhile, Roberts clarified that he does not see the former Undisputed WWE Champion returning for a one-year retirement run. Instead, he thinks the future Hall of Famer still has stories to tell in the Stamford-based company.
I think we will get Chris Jericho returning to the WWE. I think there is one thing that has been proven by the John Cena retirement run. It’s that nostalgia in WWE works. And I don’t think that that’s news to any of us. I think that we all know that we love celebrating somebody’s career in the WWE, and that’s been the case since.
I mean, I think the first true example of this might have been WrestleMania 18 and the fact that Hulk Hogan came back and we didn’t want him as nWo Hogan. We wanted to celebrate him as the Hulkster and to celebrate the legacy that he made in the WWE. And I think that you have seen that happen since then, over the last 25 years, in multiple instances.
And I think Chris Jericho is right there. I think the idea of Chris Jericho, and I don’t think it’ll be a one-year retirement run. I don’t think he’s gonna follow the John Cena playbook exactly, but I think he’s got some stories to tell in the WWE. And I think that he will. [40:28 onwards]
