Former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley last competed for New Japan Pro Wrestling back in October 2022 but the Death Rider is set to ride again for the Japanese promotion.

Moxley took the wrestling world by storm in 2019 when he left WWE, debuted for AEW at Double Or Nothing, and then went on to take part in the grueling G1 Climax tournament in NJPW which was won that year by Kota Ibushi.

Since then Moxley has maintained a presence in the Japanese company and has held the IWGP United States Championship – currently held by Kenny Omega – on two occasions.

Now NJPW has announced that Jon Moxley will be returning to the promotion for its Resurgence show taking place on May 21st in Long Beach, California.

The company has not yet confirmed who Jon Moxley’s opponent will be and it remains to be seen what condition he’ll be in for the show as he is scheduled to face Kenny Omega in what is sure to be a brutal steel cage match on the 10th of May edition of AEW Dynamite.

Also at NJPW STRONG Resurgence, Will Ospreay and Hiroshi Tanahashi will face off in the tournament to become the number one contender for the IWGP US Championship while Mercedes Mone will be in action in another tournament to crown an inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion.
